It just came to my attention that Atomic Butcher had also been reviewed on TIGSource. Derek Yu wrote on June 12th, 2007:

"The great thing about running this site is that I’m forced to play every type of game. I can go from playing a soothing Orisinal game where I’m helping deer cross a stream to being a disgusting mutant with radioactive piss, hunting for meat in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. And you know what? Both have their place in this little world of indie gaming.

A quite detailed review on Atomic Butcher can be found on Freeware List, submitted by Sam Boja on March 20th, 2006. It may be worthwile noting that I found the text on several sources, but I did not invest the energy to find out where it originated. If you by any chance know, please drop me a note so I can credit the author as such.

The Portable Freeware Collection writes: "Atomic Butcher is a side-scrolling action game in the spirit of Abuse, but much more violent and graphic. Battle across the radiation-warped wasteland of Earth in search for meat to feed your shelter, using the mouse to aim and the keyboard to move. Please note that this game is NOT for the easily offended, as it contains plenty of blood, gore and urine. There is also a package offered that does not contain the music files, which cuts the size in half (roughly 30 megabytes)."

While there's nothing exceptionally new in the description of Atomic Butcher on softpedia, it was certainly nice to see softpedia warrant our software as "[...] 100% CLEAN, which means it does not contain any form of malware, including spyware, viruses, trojans and backdoors." (as per 23 December 2008)

Also, I found it very nice of them to write "A new and very interesting arcade game that you will surely enjoy."
