Atomic Butcher Reviews

Mention on TIGSource

It just came to my attention that Atomic Butcher had also been reviewed on TIGSource. Derek Yu wrote on June 12th, 2007:

"The great thing about running this site is that I’m forced to play every type of game. I can go from playing a soothing Orisinal game where I’m helping deer cross a stream to being a disgusting mutant with radioactive piss, hunting for meat in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. And you know what? Both have their place in this little world of indie gaming.

The Portable Freeware Collection

The Portable Freeware Collection writes: "Atomic Butcher is a side-scrolling action game in the spirit of Abuse, but much more violent and graphic. Battle across the radiation-warped wasteland of Earth in search for meat to feed your shelter, using the mouse to aim and the keyboard to move. Please note that this game is NOT for the easily offended, as it contains plenty of blood, gore and urine. There is also a package offered that does not contain the music files, which cuts the size in half (roughly 30 megabytes)."

Download on Softpedia

While there's nothing exceptionally new in the description of Atomic Butcher on softpedia, it was certainly nice to see softpedia warrant our software as "[...] 100% CLEAN, which means it does not contain any form of malware, including spyware, viruses, trojans and backdoors." (as per 23 December 2008)

Also, I found it very nice of them to write "A new and very interesting arcade game that you will surely enjoy."

Puppy Buckets (Blog)

On his blog Puppy Buckets, Jared writes: "Atomic Butcher is a mindless action game with lots and lots of jumping. It's great when you're in the mood to blow stuff up; lots of explosions and blood, along with 360 degree aiming that everybody loves. Instead of some lame pistol as a default weapon, you get to use your penis. What more can one ask for in a free platform game?"

The Entropy Pump

On The Entropy Pump, one can read following synopsis:

"Reading reviews of Atomic Butcher all over the net, I saw one thing missing. To me, it feels as if the game is one big homage to Fallout. Sure, Fallout is an RPG and all, but the mood and style of Atomic Butcher reminded me very strongly of it, even if the gameplay is completely different (here we have an action platformer with shooting mechanisms similar to those in Abuse).

Made it to the-underdogs

You (probably) can't imagine the sparkling feeling of genuinely sound excitement we got when we found out that Atomic Butcher made it to the-underdogs somehow. But not only is it now on their game list, it was also rated a Top Dog. This is awesome. I mean, I know the-underdogs from my youth, I have frequented their site since, and I highly value their work. I found a few fun games there, you might want to check it out as well.

Good criticism @ Abandonia Reloaded

I was very pleased to see an elaborate criticism on Atomic Butcher. It was quite helpful for us, because it discovered some "new" weaknesses that we'll try to avoid in future releases. You can read the entire article here.
