Download estimates for Atomic Butcher

E-mail Print PDF

Estimated download figures for Atomic Butcher:

2005: ~10.000 (accumulated from different sources)
2006: ~9.000 (only in Europe)
2007: ~8.000 (only in Europe)
2008: ~5.500 (only in Europe)

This totals to ~32.000 downloads (at least). Additionally, the game appeared on cover CD of some magazines.

As stated earlier, we were expecting "a few" downloads and would be absolutely happy with 100. We can now be at least 320x absolutely happy.

Thanks to all who downloaded and played the game. The figures make me think our efforts were not spent in vain.

Yours,
  David Schwingenschlögl, CEO.

How to contribute

E-mail Print PDF

In reality, Das Humankapital is more or less a two-man effort developing indie games. We do this as a hobby, next to our day-jobs, university and "social life". We gladly offer you Atomic Butcher for free with no strings attached. Hosting the game and the website, a subversion and build server for better development, buying the occasional hardware, among other things, costs money.

If you liked what we crafted, and you would like to speed things up for future projects, or generally want to support us, you could either drop us a note and offer your services (especially if you're a gifted graphics artist Laughing), or you could give us some money by clicking on the button .

What happens with the money?

Most likely, it will go into hosting. All in all, we pay around 170,--€ a year just to keep our services up and running. Should there be any money left, we will decide on case what we'll do with it; I guarantee you that it will not be spent in vain.

New site online

As you may have noticed, a new and totally revamped site is now online. It is still a work in progress, so please bear with me if not everything works like a charm. You should find everything here that was also on our old site (which was, to be honest, just a few quickly-hacked-together pages for distributing our first (and still only) game Atomic Butcher.
